From Almroths to Emotion Logistics – a system that made the cut

When a company is acquired, existing systems and processes are often the first things to be questioned. New management typically reviews, consolidates, and replaces tools. So when a system is not only kept but actively adopted across the new organization, it means something.

That’s exactly what happened when Emotion Logistics acquired Almroths in 2024.

Almroths had been using 4E2’s automated invoicing solution since 2019. The system was deeply embedded in their 3PL operations, handling complex pricing models, customer-specific agreements, and exception management on a daily basis. When Emotion took over, they carefully evaluated what worked—and decided to roll out our system across the entire group.

Implementation in practice

The implementation began in early 2025. While the operations of Emotion and Almroths are similar, they’re not identical—so some adjustments were needed in pricing logic, matching rules, and workflows.

Thanks to:

  • our flexible architecture,
  • experience from similar cases,
  • the ease of integration with Ongoing WMS,
  • and close collaboration with the customer team,

we achieved a smooth onboarding with no disruption to daily operations.

Since April 2025, the system has been in full production across all of Emotion Logistics, helping automate processing of around 500 invoices with 50000 lines per month—handled by carriers like PostNord, DHL, Schenker, Bring, and EarlyBird—each governed by complex, customer-specific terms.

Why does it work?

It’s not about being the “most advanced” system. It’s about:

  • understanding the customer’s real-world challenges,
  • handling variations and exceptions properly,
  • and delivering a solution that’s simple enough to use—yet smart enough to make a difference.

This case illustrates exactly why we’re building 4E2:
To help 3PL companies with complex flows avoid invoicing errors, missed revenue, and wasted hours on manual control.

We’re grateful for the trust shown by both Almroths and Emotion—and excited to keep evolving the solution together.
